Superior Total Value in Scalable Capacity IP/TDM Microwave Networking

P1010662nowhiteCielo Networks’ SkyLink point-to-point microwave radios are available in all FCC/NTIA & ETSI licensed bands from 6 to 39 GHz. SkyLink terminals use a “split mount” configuration with an Outdoor Unit (ODU), usually mounted directly to the antenna, an Indoor Unit (IDU) mounted inside a structure or outdoor enclosure, and a single coaxial cable connecting those units. The SkyLink system uses advanced software defined radio technology to optimize link bandwidth scalability, payload interface options, RF operating parameter flexibility, and in-service QOS. Payload capacity is modularly allocated to IP (FE or GigE), TDM (NxT1/E1 + ADM & NxOC-3/STM-1) or variable IP + TDM modes. All TDM payloads are native; no Pseudowire TDM over IP is used. 1+1 hot standby (HSB) & 2+0 E/W & E/E configurations, as well as space diversity, are also supported in a single IDU.

Software configuration of capacity and assigned channel bandwidth automatically adjusts the modem’s modulation to the level maximizing link system gain. Numerous automatically adaptive features and an advanced forward error correction (FEC) algorithm further insure maximum link robustness and high QOS. SkyLink supports star, cascade (“daisy chain”), ring/consecutive point, or hybrid network topologies as required. The wide capacity scalability and payload interface flexibility of the SkyLink system make it the ideal "future proof" PTP microwave system for all IP, hybrid IP & TDM, and legacy TDM networks; it maximizes capabilities while minimizing costs in a transition from TDM to all IP transport.

Cielo Networks SkyLink systems are approved for use by all military services and Dept. of Defense entities (JF12/DD1494 approved, CAGE code 4YGL4).
